Westlark Advisors’ International Market Highlight

Energy markets are changing quickly today. With markets becoming increasingly complex and interconnected, it is no surprise that events occurring across the world have an influence and impact on energy markets close to home. This makes it more important than ever to keep track of what is happening not just in markets across the street, but also in markets across the globe.

The Westlark Team has increased our focus on global energy markets. This increased focus, along with our expertise in North American markets, allows us to help clients navigate international supply chains, commodity streams and emerging opportunities. Wherever your business operates, we provide a steady hand and a shared commitment so you can confidently build sustainable value and growth.

Providing a Weekly International Market Highlight

Each week, Westlark Advisors provides an International Market Highlight. This “snapshot” of critical market issues is drawn from our weekly report, the International Buzz!

The Westlark Team closely watches matters that impact shipping, affect energy pricing, and influence market activity in specific regions. We are committed to working with you, as partners, to reach your business’s unique goals.

BRAZIL

Brazil imports about 30% of its LPG consumption—around seven million tons annually. Despite market deregulation, Petrobras still dominates due to its infrastructure and pricing. Private terminal projects progress slowly, and future demand growth and investment may be driven by programs like Gás do Povo.

USA

Permian Basin crude output is expected to rise 3.3% to about 7.05 million b/d in 2026—led by ExxonMobil and supported by strong oil prices. However, growth will be constrained by limited infrastructure and continued capital discipline among producers.

ARGENTINA

Amid global energy uncertainty, Argentina is positioning LPG as a strategic alternative to cut fuel imports and strengthen energy security. Exports are set to surge about 35% in 2026 on rising Vaca Muerta output, expanding infrastructure, and growing demand from diversified international markets.

COLOMBIA

Colombia has lost its natural gas self-sufficiency, with declining production, shrinking reserves, and rising LNG imports straining the energy system and increasing costs. This is prompting a shift toward alternatives like LPG, though long-term supply stability will depend on faster infrastructure investment and diversification.

MEXICO

Global Gas will invest $150 million to build an LPG import terminal in Tuxpan, Veracruz, featuring 30,000-ton capacity, strategic Gulf Coast logistics, and infrastructure to supply nearly one million households while boosting regional jobs and energy capacity.

Testimonials

From Our Valued Customers.

We enjoy working with Westlark Advisors. Great people who have helped our business!

Will

Westlark Advisors has taken the burden of the everyday supply logistics off our plate and allowed us to focus on our operations in the critical times of the year. They have educated our team along the way and helped us brainstorm options/risks that fit our business model. Westlark Advisors has allowed the Tevis organization to explore opportunities within the supply and hedging arena that we would not have been exposed to without the relationship.

Dave

We experience less angst when making a futures purchase.*

Jeff

They not only taught us how to plan and diversify our supply, but also new ways to protect the price. They have been great at negotiating supply deals and putting plans in place to know we will be secure when the market is not. I am confident that if things get tight we will be in a better position than our competitors.

Troy

We can’t say enough about the high level of service the entire team provided us. We relied on them and they came through for us over and over. They are complete professionals and a pleasure to do business with.

Rick & Ann

It has been one of the best decisions that our company has ever made. The Westlark Advisors team have looked after our interests since day one, and have executed the plan each year very well.
